ISRAEL

This past October, I had a chance to take a trip to Israel. Many thanks to the folks of Smith Chapel UMC who saved for years to send me (unfortunately for them, they saved enough for a round trip ticket).
My immediate reaction is, "Every Christian should make this pilgrimage if the opportunity presents itself." It is well worth any sacrifice you may have to make to get there.
Before I left, I ran into a pastor friend of mine who (upon discovering I was about to leave for Israel) said, "...just the lay of the land...the geography...is the fifth gospel." He was right. It lends a whole new perspective to the understanding of the Bible.
If you get the chance...GO!
