What I Didn't Say
Ovations--I realize my mind is beginning to go, but I have to say until this sermon, I don't recall ever receiving applause immediately following the delivery of one of my messages. The congregation has often applauded at the end of the entire service, but to my recollection, never at the conclusion of a sermon. It happened after this one.
It was both gratifying and puzzling. I didn't think it was anywhere near the best sermon I've ever preached (at least in my opinion). My guess is, the subject was really well received. I hope I wasn't just "tickling ears" here. I hope it was just a timely message as well as a truth that someone needed to hear.
