What I Didn't Say

Palm Sunday
--I think I actually said everything I wanted to say in this one.  In the grand scheme of things, we don't think about Palm Sunday very much.  It's mostly an entrance way into the big week, Holy Week.  But for some reason, I got pretty excited about it.  I didn't realize that until I listened to this sermon.

Excitement--I don't know if you ever get excited when listening to a sermon.  I hope you do.  I often get excited when I'm preaching one.  For one thing, it's such a privilege to preach the Word of God, sometimes I can't contain how I feel.  I suppose that adds (or helps to shape) my style of preaching.

The people who gathered on the parade route that first Palm Sunday, seemed to be pretty excited.  I hope they weren't too disappointed when the parade ended.  I suspect, even when we get excited in or about a sermon or worship in general, we often lose our excitement by the time we hit the parking lot.

I know we shouldn't live on emotion.  But sometimes it really helps.
