What I Didn't Say
Anointed--We don't often think of ourselves as having an anointing from God (or from anywhere else for that matter). It's not a word we use very much or a term we think about a lot. Yet, when we come into a knowledge of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we recognize that we are anointed by God's Holy Spirit. At least I hope we do, because we are.
But why are we anointed? Is it merely to be saved from our own sinfulness? Well, that's a pretty good reason. But it doesn't stop there. We are anointed (or set apart) for God's purposes. It might be a good idea for each of us to search God's heart and His Word to discover what purposes we have been set apart to do. Living a life in Christ will reveal those things to us.
