As a little diversion, I've decided to resurrect an old character...estava ProD. estava ProD was created while serving my first parish. While there, I produced a youth newsletter called The Parish Prod. In it was a episodic column or series of articles called the Chronicles of estava ProD.
At that time I ran a little contest, with a prize and all, for anyone who could guess what estava ProD stood for. i don't remember what the prize was, but I DO remember that no one guessed it.
It was pretty clear that I was estava ProD. What apparently was not clear was estava ProD was my name (Pastor Dave) with the letters rearranged...thus the capitals P and D in odd places and the uncapitalized e in front. I thought these were great hints, but I suppose most of the youth had real lives and couldn't be sitting around trying to decipher the pastor's musings.
At any rate, he's back...hopefully older and wiser. I love writing these and they mean little if anything to anyone but me. They all have elements of truth, however, so I invite you to scan them as they pop up. Maybe you'll win a prize (if I can ever remember what the prize was).
